#BringBackOurGirls Norway Donates N274m To Girl-Child Education In Northern Nigeria

-child education in the Northern parts of Nigeria has been boosted by the government of Norway which announced a a donation of NOK 10 million 9 (N274,132,000 million naira) to the cause on Wednesday.
Norway's Foreign Minister Børge Brende, in a statement issued by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the abduction of the Chibok girls.
"Boko Haram’s kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls is an unacceptable attack on girls’ right to education," Brende said.
According to the statement, girls’ education is one of Norway’s development policy priorities.
"The Government has therefore decided to allocate NOK 10 million to efforts to promote safe schooling for girls in northern Nigeria and help to the communities affected by the abductions."
Brende added that Norway will also "consider providing humanitarian assistance for refugees and internally displaced people in the area."
The Minister condemned the dreaded Islamic sect in strong terms.
"I am deeply concerned about the situation of the abducted girls in Nigeria. The Government condemns Boko Haram’s brutal abduction of the schoolgirls in the strongest possible terms. My thoughts are with the girls and their families," said Mr Brende.
More than 200 girls have been in Boko Haram captivity since April 15, over a month, spurring an international outcry under the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
So far, efforts to rescue the girls have failed  with several foreign government pledging to assist the Nigerian government.
